Hand drumming made easy! In these fun & exciting classes you will learn to play hand drums and rhythms from around the world as you feel the pulse. Bring your own drum to class if you have one. There will be some drums provided to share.

Samba DrummingCity of Concord
Have fun learning Brazilian and South American rhythms. Explore instruments like surdo, ganza, tamborim, pandiero and more! The class includes lots of group playing with a focus on how to get the basic techniques. Bring your own drum to class if you have one. The instructor will have a variety of drums available to share.

African Hand DrummingCity of Pleasant Hill
West African & North African drumming - Instruction plus a Jam Session.
Play a variety of drums and percussion instruments. Class covers North African and Middle Eastern rhythms with doumbek and frame drums as well as learning some West African rhythms on djembe and congas. Topics: how to strike the drum, drumming from around the world and playing interlocking rhythms. This is a great way to improve your natural rhythm. Some drums/percussion instruments available; if possible, bring your own. Other instruments welcome.
